was the 4.2 v8 avalibale in the 82 notch or just the 5.0 looking at one the guy doesnt know witch it has

not sure if this helps but i parted out a 80s mustang and it had a 3.8 liter v6

i have never seen a ford 4.2 v8 ........but my dads 07 f150 has a 4.2 v6

Oh yeah forgot, good point guys.. there is also the 4 and 6 cyl do you have pics of the motor perhaps it would be a lot easier to Identify what it has for a motor, that way we know for sure.. I mean for all we know the person could have swapped the motor to a 5.0 the 4 or 6 cyl smile.gif

i think a 4.2 v8 is a 289 so i dont think it would of came stock in 82

if it has 8 spark plugs buy it(not if its a 8 spark plug 2.3)... if it has 6 its a 3.8

a 289 is a 4.7

oh yeah i dunno why i said that 289 is 4.2 because 4.6 is 281 so didnt think it all the way through i had a DUH moment sorry

The "automatic" was mated to a 255ci 4.2l V8 motor in 82
5spds recieved the 5.0 302

The 4.2L (255) was available in 80-81 and 82 in all models.
