today completely dismantaled the engine, took it out with the tranny, getting ready tto paint the engine bay and motor, gonna add the new system maxx intake msd ignition and the new clutch. planning on paintin the bay orange and painting the engine black with orange details, pics up soon

its a systemmax with a sheet metal upper not a factory systemmax witch even a systemmax for a n/a motor is for a high reving motor or boost
a sheet metal upper is gonna just make it even worse gonna have no lower end tourqe numbers are gonna be down
seeing as you took a stock intake off the motor im gonna go with its a bone stock motor
its to much intake gonna hurt power

definetly not stock its got alot of work the torque will be a little down with the sheet metal but not alot and with the cam he has that motor will bring huge power at high rpm

mass air conversion
cold air intake
world class t5
no cats
aftermarket 65 mm throttle body
a now older mallory distributor, its 2 years old
3.73 gears
flowmaster exhaust
aftermarket fuel pump
cobra rocker arms
mac headers
msd 6al ignition


it will do fine

it has a blower cam in it with out a blower ok then other then that it is basicly stock
so ur car might make what 220 hp??? not gonna get in a debate with you just letting you know intakes to much for the motor

i have a gt40 box intake and that killed my low end tq even with the blower. Pull alot nicer up top tho biggrin.gif

i just posted his mods unless hes hiding alot of stuff i dont really see anything done to it besides a cam and even if its the best cam in the world its still getting bottled up by the stock e7s

qwik88 ur completly right the e7s will bottle up the power....but for a quick fix up it will be good and it will be better then stock and he wants to through boost to it he just dosnt have the money for it ya know he dosent make a billion dollars so hes doing what he can!

just i would hold off on that intake till he boosts it or does some substatial mods

not talking shit or saying anything bad about your car or its mods but ....ITS A INTAKE DESIGNED FOR A CAR WITH A BLOWER.....your car does not care how old you are or how many bills you have to pay .....you will loose power with this intake that's a fact

why not just put the stock intake on it untill you got more parts?

everything said before is true. you WILL lose power.

i bet a bone stock 5.0L would run laps around that car if you run it as is....

I have the same kinda upper intake, i talked to steve when he got it and told him those intake are for boosted cars. i have one beacause "one day" im gonna give it some boost and i got a killa deal on the intake. he also said "one day" he was gonna put boost on his car too....i also told him it killed my lowend power but it helps me from 3500 rpm and up. as long as he doent think the intake is gonna give him 50hp or do more than its gonna do, fine.

You do have some big heads on your car also though. That needs to be taken into consideration too. His heads aren't going to let him rev high.
