what transmission should i use for my mustang? i want to have a street car with about 500 hp off of nitrous but with it on 700 hp im using a nine inch ford with 4:10s i want to know which is the best for a semi street car. a powerglide, an aod or a c4. please help me out

Each tranny choice has it's purpose .... Dependes what you want to do with it . Full race car , street strip car , every day driver ? In my opinion if your looking for streetability that includes any kind of highway driving .... I would suggest the Lentech AOD with a 3000 stall \ lock up converter . Expensive tranny , but you get what you pay for . The best part is it's warranty ..... covered for two years no matter what .

thats what i was figureing is the aod but ive heard some horror storys about them popping into overdrive at random times and them blowng up commonly...ive heard the powerglide is more of a race tranny but with the ratios it has with a enough high reving motor it could go on the high way for a bit and still be streetable i dunno thats basicly why im asking
stock block bored and stroked bottom end gurdle, race aluminum heads not sure what to get yet with rocker gurdles, valley gurdles on a carb set up with 150-250 shot of nitrous im saying 700 on nitrous

im doin a glide but i relize street car and track car is hard to have both id do a c4 or a aod if you are gonna drive on street depends on the setup ...if i did it over again id prob do a glide like i am or a gforce 5speed

If you have not done so yet .... check out Lentechs web site http://www.lentechautomatics.com/aodcustomers.html These are the best AOD's you will find . They have AOD's that will take 1500 horse no problem . They are a little pricey ... but it will be the last tranny you will ever need . If I was to build another stang and I wanted to go auto ... this is it .
