Im looking into supercharging my 2000 gt as soon as my truck sells. (soon)
Im looking for a used kit as im not going to have a whole lot of cash ( $2000 or a little more if need be) or maybe a tuner kit and ill piece the fuel system together. I already have a tunner.
does anyone know what it would take to make one from the 96-98 4.6 (2v or 4v) work with my car?
Or does anyone know of any 99-04 2v kits for sale?
Maybe even a single turbo setup? just kinda weighing out my options right now so any info would be helpful.
Cheapest vortech kit i found was like $2700 I think.

I don't think you will find a used turbo kit complete in your budget. I don't see why you won't find a used S trim or P1SC in that range. You should call Vortech or Procharger and see what the difference is on the 99+ kit vs 96-98. It may simple as mounting brackets. You could also look into roots style blowers. The 03 cobra eaton setups can be had cheap and in your budget. I don't know how they would bolt to your motor though.
My friend bought an eaton for cheap money but it wouldn't bolt onto his 2v. I can get more info but I just remember that he had to sell it because it wouldn't bolt up.
ya you have to use the tork tech manifold to bolt the eaton to the 2v and there expensive!
Im bidding on a intercooled procharger on ebay right now and im the high bidder at $1850! and no one else is bidding. auction ends in 2 days so ill find out if i get it then. Its a complete kit minus the MAF, Injectors and fuel pump!

Good Luck on the blower purchase !! The difference between the years 96 to 04 2v is the blower's mounting brackets . This is do to the different cam chain covers that were changed through the years . You can use a blower from a different year ... you will just either have to change the brackets or the cam chain cover . As far as fuel pumps ..... I used a 255 lph intank when my 02 was stock with just the blower . once you crest 425 rwhp it will be time to upgrade the fuel system . The stock airmeter is good to 325 rwhp .... after that you either will need a Diablo Mafia to extend the meters ability to read the incoming air or a new meter . Please don't use a lightning meter as these are not really the best and have seen drivability issues with them . An SCT big air 2400 will work great for you . If you plan on pushing the power to around 400 rwhp I would suggest 42# inj.
thanks for all the info man, that def helps! the blower is for a 98 but i think i can just drill new holes in the bracket to make it work! If not there like $246 from procharger and ill still be ahead of the game.
As long as i dont get out bid!

I bet you could get a used timing cover cheaper than Procharger wants for the brackets. SCT meters are great, but you are better off running an 05+ meter. You can run both meters as a blow thru setup, but the 05+ meter is the way to go now. You can buy it all from VMP tuning including the conversion harness for your MAF wiring to the 05+ meter. You will have a clean signal and a nice streetability.
This would only apply if the blower is set up as draw thru which I thought prochargers were. If it is then run it as blow thru. Any good tuner out there will tell you the same thing. If its already blow thru then pick whichever meter you want.
