Ford Racing Crate Motor/s

Alright guys just doing some early research for when I am ready to buy...Has anyone ever gotten a Ford Racing crate motor? If so I'm wondering if they really put out the power they say they do once you drop it in the car...Any thoughts on this motor in particular? I'm thinking about it..

buy a crate short block or a long block with a warranty 5-6-7k on a motor is stupid. you could buy a jasper long block for 1500 bucks and have a 3 year warranty....thats what im gonna do with my car, is a 93 cobra long block from jasper and probably put the blower on it and the likely hood of catastrophic engine failure is lower.

I had the GT40 345 hp 302 crate motor. It only made 275 to the wheels. thumbsdown

Don't buy a crate motor, build your own it's well worth the money.

Some of the crate motors are rated horsepower wise at what they are and others are not. The Ford racing 450 hp 347 is the real deal horsepower wise. As for pricing some are high and some are low. If your looking for 300 hp at the wheels you can build it cheaper then buying a crate motor. You can even install heads cam and intake on a stock short block and make 300 hp at the wheels pretty easy.
