so this morning i wake up.. bored.. figured i'd put the new fuel rail on the stang. pull out of the drive way and i got a little squeek. it sat for a couple days and it rained, so i figured it was the brakes.. no biggie
drive about another mile and as im giving the car gas it really dosnt wanna move. i pull over into the 99 parking lot, take the center cap off the RF wheel and there lies my outer bearing.. in pieces of course.
i had tools with me so i figured id just pop a new one on in the parking lot.. again.. no biggie.
jack it up, take the wheel off, caliper off, and rotor... everything came off except the old race which had basicaly welded itself to the spindle. i spent all fucking day trying to get this thing off.. honestly a good 4-5 hours. finaly said fuck it, unbolted the spindle but of course it wouldnt come off.
couldnt find a picklefork anywhere so i end up smashing the ball joint down, fucked all the threads up but got it off went to put new one on of course it wouldnt thread on.
had car towed to my garage, $80 tow bill, $70 on a jack, $30 on new bearings, and $40 gas in my moms car.
complete fucking waste of my day off... priceless
just thought i'd share... oh and to top it off... last night i ended up walking from downtown haverhill to whittier tech in the pouring fucking rain... another story for another day.
