CRAIGSLIST SCAM!!

So Im selling my dirtbike on craigslist. I had posted in on here as well. Anyway, I get an email from some guy and he said he wants it. Tells me to send him all my contact info and he will cut me off a check for the full amount and have a moving company come get the bike. He says he cant meet with me due to his business schedual.

sounds like a SCAM to me!

I didnt give him any info, I told him if he is serious, we would have to meet in person and do a cash transaction. Lets see if he answers back.........

What do you guys think?

- Jay

I don't get the scam...Tell him to send you a check made out to CASH and see if it clears. =) Even giving your name and address isn't a big deal, you can find that out easy enough anyways on the interwebz. Only a fool would send the item without the check clearing first.

And I too told the guy He would have to meet me in person with cash and he never responded.. And x2 I agree with the way there grammer is on there e-mails that they reply back to you with.. Seems very sketchy.. Buyers beware. It's assholes like that need a good ass whoopin, and a broken jaw. LOL Sorry I get carried away with my Imagination.. LMFAO

Those emails are always scams never reply to them! cragslist even has postings about spotting scams, but it is easy to tell which ones they are. IKf yopu were to get a check it would come back within a few days as fraudulent. I work in a bank so I've had idiots come in with bogus checks that bounce 5 days later. They just hope you will ship the car or bike or whatever before the check bounces.

I have had a lot of these scam responses too. They are wicked sketchy and all sound the same. I don't and would just never respond to any of that shit.

I wasn't implying it wasn't a scam, I have seen others too. They must just prey on the ignorant.

the way they get the phony checks is by scamming people...the banks are real. the checks are not. by depositing it in your account your bank info. is now the scamers....soon you bank account number will be on the phony checks. then they have assess to your financial shit.

I read up on the CL scam info and this email looks just like the ones they have for examples on there. Even the last word of it is the same as all the example scams... "Regards" or "best regards" They say the the back will cash the face check or money order however that when they realize that it is a phony, they can bring you up on federal fraud charges...

x2 on the broken jaw for these guys! Fucking assholes man... I thought I finally could buy a new mustang and hopefully drive it a few times before the damn snow flies... but the wait continues......

I hear ya bro. Just hang in there, just take your time in finding a new stang.. And make sure the person your dealing with with is legit.. Just got to be cautious, and as long as you are everything should be fine.
