So I found this kid on craigslist selling a 86LX. well heres the ad http://westernmass.craigslist.org/cto/854316979.html. I offered to trade him my supercharged 90 that is pulled apart but he said that it has 95 motor and tranny but is still running speed density... and also that the #6 cylinder wristpin is going and starting to knock.
1. What the hell is a wrist pin? 2. How hard is this to fix? 3. How much would this cost me to fix? 4. Would any member on here be able to help me out with this if you all tell me to go through with this? 5. What is involved in converting speed density to mass air? cost?
Thanks and the faster the replies the better... But i dont want to go through with this and have it end up being a complete hunk of junk....
Thats what I figured. The dude said hes a certified ASE tech and if I got a block from a junkyard cuz he feels his block would probably have to be bored a little, he could swap everything into the junkyard block for me... How much would I have to pay in parts including the block and whatever else (I dont know what) I would need to do this?
Why a block? He said a wrist pin is bad (I'd like to know how he came to that conclusion ).Sounds like a complete cluster-fuck to me. I wouldn't get involved with the clown
yea thats what im thinking now, but Im going to you with you on this one bonz and tell this guy no thanks. After a whole season with my car not being put together, Im kind of jumpy when I finally get an offer. Thanks bonz, your the man
Cuz its all pulled apart and beginning to rust out so it needs a new shell for everything to be swapped into and I have no $$... I have a post in the lounge if your interested further.
