good call bonz- you were the first to mention the valve springs.... looks like everything else has been eliminated besides that..... i may just replace the springs.

Be sure to get the correct springs!!!!!! I would recommend a spring kit (locks, springs, retainers).

Look into the Trick Flow Valve spring kit. It is a direct fit with no machining required. Comes with the springs, Locks , retainers. Retails for around a $100.00 bucks. Just make sure you install them at the correct installed height.

mike keep those heads cheap hp, who really wants to spend a grand on a set of heads when they can spend 200$ or less. thats like 800$ + more for like 30 more hp probably less tho. I'm running the same setup as you and I just replaced my springs a few weeks ago with some crane cams part # CRN 44308-1 cost 119.95$ from summit. I'll give you the link.  easy beans for u prob make more hp as well....trying runnin ur mass air car on a speed density computer lol mines making stupid power with the SD comp for some reason with mass air!                       http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CRN-44308-1

omg.gif I told you Mike it's done with heads still on the car,get an adapter to screw into spark plug hole so you can fill cylinder with compressed air, this keeps the valves closed when you remove locks/retainers. Borrow a spring compressor & your done in 1.5-2.0 hours tops.
