Cleaning the Air Control Valve

Hey guys my car has been idling a little high lately, around 1500 RPMs. It only happens occasionally when I come to a stop light. If I give it a little gas it usually settles back down to around 800 RPMs. I am figuring the air control valve might be a little dirty. Can you just spray some throttle body cleaner in it to clean it out?

anything ftom the TPS to EGR, would just end up replacing them, it might be harder for you since your vehicle isnt ODBII car, honesly i would pm mineral 02... seems to know alot more than i do

Shouldn't be the EGR, that was replaced last year, I am going to try this to see if it helps. I don't think it's ever been cleaned out so, I am thinking it must have some stuff in there. Hopefully I can get to it tonight after work. Is it hard to take off, it's just two bolts right?

Hey guys, I got the air control valve off and I sprayed some throttle body cleaner in the two holes that match up with the throttle body, and got a rag and tried to get some of the stuff that was in there out. I was wondering if I should take the bottom part of the air control valve apart too to clean that. There looks like that there is two screws that holds the bottom portion of the air control valve on. Should I take that off and clean in there too, or will just spraying throttle body cleaner in the two holes that match up with the throttle body be sufficient?

Thanks I cleaned it out the other night and let it dry over night. I put it on last night and the car started, but since we are having this crazy ass weather I didn't take it out for a ride, just started it and revved the motor in the garage. The real test will be to take her out for a ride sometime this weekend to see if I still have a problem. If this doesn't work maybe I should buy a new one, or I am thinking the throttle cable is just not getting released all the way when I take my foot off the gas and thats the reason for the high idle sometimes. To bad these things cost $90....or else I would just buy a new one right now.
