probably better if your gonna cage it...gotta remove the seats and carpet but should do that with any welding in that area. just to be on the safe side. oh yeah don't forget to disconnect the battery before you weld.

Tube Chassis does them in Hanson. He cuts out the section of your floor pan where they go and then takes his stock and welds them to the floor pan, front subframe and I think your torque boxes too, he did a set for me about 9 years ago and I forget all the welding points. When you look under the car they run flush with the front subframe and end at the torque box. Inside the car you see the carpet raised behind each seat. You would need to remove your seats and carpet, disconnect the battery and probably move fuel/brake lines out of the way. You also have to be careful that any sound deadening material on the floor pan is cleaned off before welding so you don't start a fire.

If you're gonna do a cage just do it all at once. It will save you time.

I have done them myself twice, I use a Griggs Racing setup. They are really easy to do, use an angle grinder with a good cut off wheel, make sure that you mark everything and measure correctly, but it is really easy. Then make sure that they are welded good. If you need pics will send,

Good luck

My old car had some done by Tube Chassis Designz. I think they are like 350-375, not sure exactly though. They do an awesome job. Here is their website. http://www.tubechassisdesignz.com
