WIDENING RIMS

Dno if ill do it but i want to widen my ROHs and run a 315 tire out back...i know all about rubbing issues and blah blah...some of you may have seen the article in MM&FF where they had a set of 5 lug 17" ponys made and they rand a nitto 315 out back...took minimal work and no cutting...only downside is no quad shocks and have to run dumps...anyone know anywhere to get wheels widened and how much it is?

Widening rims is a band aid way of doing it. The mustang ad mag article was for those Mavromont Pony wheels which are pretty good quality, but they were designed specifically for a fox body. You would be better off going with something like this. I don't know how you would have offset/backspacing setup with a widened rim either. No quad shocks is fine, put in some good LCA's. If you get a good quality muffler, not Mac or Flowmaster, and buy some 45* turndowns from autozone you won't mind dumps. I had them on my old notchback and they were fine. No drone at all and they only got loud when you stomped on it.

MM&FF fit a Nitto 315 under a lowered Notch with no rubbing issues...provided ill have no quad shocks and have to run dumps...but IMO its worth it for how it will look...imagine 315s in the back of a lowered notch...badass is what that is...all you have to do is obviously roll the fender lip and on the inner wheel well where the seem is, what MM&FF did was take a 2x4 and slowly hammer it in to kinda roll it and it cleared the tire fine with no rubbing issues

That was wheel specifically designed to fit a fox body properly and run a 315 tire. You aren't doing that here. Take a tape measure and go from the edge of your rim on the inside of the wheel well and see if you can add 2" to the rim. If you are hitting stuff see what it is and then see how much clearnace you need. They will just cut your rim and add in a new section. If your tape measure hits at .5" then your new rim will need some serious clearance work.

^^ they come 4 lug josh. you also need to take into consideration that all 315's run differently. a nitto 315 runs much smaller then any other. so much smaller, that you can run them on a 9 inch wheel. i saw them on a 10.5 in person recently and they were almost stretched a hair.
