Untill there is some kind of dependable energy alternative .... I say drill away !! We have come along way in saftey and enviromental protection that I don't see any problem with drilling in our own back yards ..so to speak . Alot of the reason the enviro freaks get there noise holes all puckered up is because of the Valdeze insident in Anwar Alaska that happened a number of years ago . These days the tanker technology has come along way .. with double hull protection and satelite navigation and so on . If we truly want to get away from foreighn dependence in a realistic manner . Then we have to drill in are own country .

It IS about time but this will not lower the cost of fuel. These companies see the record profits that are happening right now and all they're seeing is Dollar Signs. Before, it was not worth their effort because their margins would have been too low. Now that the price is at record highs, it's worth their time and effort.
