Vehicle depreciation and fuel cost.

My buddy and i have been car shopping all weekend. he has a 2003 silverardo ex cab truck w/ every option ever available. truck has 80k. he bought it for 18k last year and put close to 10 k cash down...the book on the truck was exactly what he paid for it last year....book now is 13k and trade in they wont give more than 6500. its everywhere they say bigger vehicles dont even get 1 bid at the actions. its all fuel related. Just a shitty situation to be upside down in something you put that much $ down on. I would hate to be back in the situation where i was 10-12k upside down in my 2004 f150. so think 2ce before you buy a car or truck because they do not hold any value your better off with a 15mpg fox mustang or anythitng that you own and pay the extra gas

I am in the process of buying an F250. I need it to haul to the track and to DD. I will be using some of the negatives you have mentioned to get my truck at a cheaper price. Seems like the truck market is plenty of supply but not enough demand at the moment. Play your cards right and you can and will have a nice truck that will do what you need it to. I mean we do live in the U.S. trucks will never be out of style. I would by a nice 01-04 Lightning except for the fact that I need to get around in the winter.

right know before you buy anything you have to think what your doing .....cars are dropping value so much because of the ecomny ....i wouldnt buy a truck unless you really needed to and if you can afford it and get a great deal then go for it ....my stepdad works at a dealer and he tells me every week more and more people are just fixing there old cars and not buying new ones cause its cheaper to fix then buy a new one in some cases

fuck buying from the dealer!!!! private sale/craigslist/ebay is the best way to go

1. buy from a dealer u lose 5k just driving it off the lot
2. let the 1st owner take the lose
3. people r sellin for what they owe cuz they kno they cant make a profit
4. ebay will b there cheapest no1 payin extra now-a-days
