i know a kid in Waltham with an 03-04 GT...running "Stage 3" cams...blah blah and ran a 12 flat with a 100 shot...ill try and get ahold of him to see what exactly he has...thing sounds NASTY though with the cams...and dumps...AND a 4000 stall that he drives daily lol
Patriot heads are popular among 2V guys. They have 3 different levels, $1000-$1500 per set I think. Mixed reviews on quality though.
Honestly, look up a guy named Nazman on svtperformance. Have him do your heads. He did my buddy's heads and quite a few others and you will never find someone as good as he is. His prices are better than most. You ship him your heads, he ports them and sends them back either assembled or bare depending on how you want to do it. He ports intakes too.
Are you looking for n/a cams, or some type of power adder?
Untill you make over 450 rwhp .... keep the stock intake . The composite material doesn't heat soak like aluminum . Besides the only good intake for a 4.6 street car is the p-51 and for 900.00 $ it won't justify the 20 horse youll pick up from it . That is unless you have a power adder . Then it will be benificial . All the other intakes are either copies of factory intakes or they loose power because of poor desighn .
A set of cams will definatley wake up your car and recomend this as one of the first things to do to a 4.6 . Just don't go for the biggest cams . As this could hurt drivability and fuel economy . Porting the cylinder heads or buying a set of Fox lake heads will be very costly . Again not worth it in my book unless you have a power adder to take advantage of the extra flow .
Finaly here is my advice .... for what it's worth . Save your money and find a power adder that fits your budget . That with a set of cams and all else being stock .... will net you more horse power than the stock pistons and rods can live with for any length of time . you could port the heads and put on an aftermarket intake of your choice , but you would be at the cost of a used power adder or almost the cost of a new kit ! Trust me ... it's more easy to bolt on a power adder than it is to tear the engine apart . Not to mention the much bigger power gains you'll see . Good luck with what ever you do !
