Alphabet cams are outdated, but they aren't terrible just not the best out there. What heads are you using and what springs and rockers? Some cams may have too much lift for what you want to use.

X2 With a stock block you can only run a 1.90 intake valve without notching pistons unless you use Trick Flows. You can run up to .540 lift with those.(2.02) intake valve.

Alphabet cams aren't as good as newer stuff, but you can get them used for under $100 these days and where you gonna find any decent cam for that kind of money. Anderson Ford makes a nitrous cam too I think or you could get a custom grind if you don't like any cams you have seen so far. A couple of my friends run nitrous motors, but they are 351 based w/ different setups than you want. I would search around on mustangs sites like the corral and see what what guys are running. Thats the only way to really figure it out is to talk to people who have done it and had success. I could tell you what I think, but I have never been into nitrous and may not give you accurate information.
Well here is my ... When choosing a cam try to be realistic about what your going to do with the car . Is it going to be strictly a track car ? OR a street strip car ? or mostly street . Choosing the wrong cam can adversley affect drivability aswell as performance . Things to know are max lift @.050." not advertised numbers like some cam companies spew . Duration plays a big factor in where the power will be usable and is what gives you the lumpity lump sound at idle. Lobe center is also a big factor . When installing your cam I highly recommend using a degree wheel kit . This will assure you that your getting exactly what the manufacturer intended for the performance level of your cam . Always match your valve springs to the lift of the cam . To little spring or using old worn out ones could result in severe engine damage . To stiff a spring can cause premature wear on the cam lobes and lifters .
Another factor to consider is rocker ratio . For example a 1.72 FMS cobra aluminum roller rocker will add .030". to your cams lift number . In other words if you have .512" lift and add the 1.72 rocker ratio. You now have approx. .542 " of lift . As far as what cam is right for you ..... Well I recommend talking to the cam company of your choice and see what they have to say . We can give you opinions as to what will work , but what works for others may not work for you and your engine combo . This is all I have .... Good Luck with your choice !!
