up to 1989, the T-5 had a 7-tooth drive gear in the trans. For 3.73's you would use the red 21-tooth driven gear.
In 1990, Ford put a black 8-tooth drive gear. For 3.73's you would need the white 23-tooth driven gear...which is actually a chrysler part....that strips very easily
