Thanks guys for the comments... Unfortunatly I ran into some problems with the H-Pipe, I can't get the crossmember to line up to where I have to bolt it to the frame.. You'll see in the pics below what I'm talking about... I need some Idea's I'm stumped on this one plus I'm pissed off, and ready to take a sledge hammer to the car.. LOL

Thanks guys for the comments.. I appreciate it... Yeah x2 I should clean up that area and figure out where it's leaking from... perhaps it was from the old valve cover gaskets before, I put new ones on and havent leaked since, but either way I should clean it up just to make sure there isn't any other leaks... so far nothing on the pavement.. Knock on wood... BTW I took some more pics, that I will post up soon.. And yes the cross member was on wrong.. LOL I can't believe we didn't think of it that night, it was a long week for me and I couldn't think straight cuz I was also excited about dropping the new stuff into the car.. LOL Oh well, you know what they say "You Live & Learn." smashfreakBbret

It's all good bro.. I know you didn't mean anything bad by it.. I was just implying that I was suprised you haven't seen a catted H-pipe on a stang til you saw mine.. I'm sure you have seen them, but I'm sure you also used to people without them, but no biggie, no offense taken. bret

Well time to tackle the next huge project.. the saga continues... I have some patching up to do on the floor boards.. it's not too too bad, but does need a little work.. So Far today I ripped out the carpet and tossed it out due to the fact that water got inside from the little hole which can easily be fixed.. took the seats out and center console. I didn't get the chance to snap pics of my progress but will... So basically my Mustang will be out of commission for a long while, as I have some work to do on it.. Will keep you guys posted.

Here are the last pics of the Mustang that your going to see.. I have desided to abort the project due to the fact that my rebuilt tranny that I bought last year 3rd gear went to sh*t and the strut towers are rotted.. So basically I am going to either be looking for a cheap roller and swap my motor and other misc parts onto it, or just sell mine as a Parts car in whole and buy another Mustang.. Dunno yet, but without further interruption here are the pics. Please note the doors were not painted due to the fact that I was planning on replacing them.

Well if you look at it from under the fender area you'll notice a big opening in the lower tower struts on both sides rotted out, and to me it's just a warning to stop the project all together as I don't think it's worth putting the effort into it.. Not to mention the roof around the sunroof is junk, and not worth my money and time... I'm sure someone with auto body skills can bring it back to life, but I don't have the sophisticated machinery to do all that work.. But I do have a future project in store.. I'm buying my cousins 86 Mustang convertible for 500, and the body is immaculate.. No rot as far as I can see.. It originally came from Florida so the body is solid.. It currently has a 6cyl carb on it, but I am going to drop my 302 5.0 motor into it and convert my motor to carb, and put in a new cam.. My cousin loves across the street from me so the car gets to sit in his garage and I'll be able to work on it during the winter.. After I swap out all my parts over to the 86 I'm junking my 88 body and call it a day. This will be a fun new project for me.. I will keep you all updated with progress pics as soon as I begin the project. headbang.gif

I had my fair share in the past with it.. now I'm saving my motor, rear end, and misc other parts and swap it over on the 86

sucks bro, but if u get a rust free roller, once you start driving it, its gona rust too(damn newengland cars)...... drive it as long as you can have fun with it, tull the rust makes the car unsafe or accauly effects it ide say.

lets see pics of the strut towers

after what you got into it might actually be cheaper to just fix it

i have never seen a daily driven 5.0 with rust free strut towers

Yeah true.. New England sure takes a beating on these cars.. I won't be driving it on a daily basis anyways.. I'll just keep up an eye on it, and if it developes rust I will take care of it asap, to prevent future headaches.

Yeah I hear you.. I never drove it on a daily basis, let alone in the rain or snow from the time I first bought it til now.. I guess it was there but never looked for it in the beginning.. I'm sure it wasn't as bad before but got worse as time went on.. Either way I'm tired of pouring money into it as far as the body goes.. the roof is junk, not even worth my time anymore.. I found an 86 which belongs to my cousin.. he is selling it to me, and the body, strut towers, floor boards, everything is rust free, rot free, the body is immaculate so I'm going for it.. now I just have to swap my motor and misc other parts over to the 86.. It's for the best. smile.gif
