oil pressure drop


my oil pressure gauge drops from the m to the l pretty quick above 4500rpm does anyone know wat this could be. the gauge stays at the m driving normal and doesnt dip down only when its full throttle above 4500rpm any help would be great thanks

Yea the factory gauges suck, The one in my truck was reading wicked low about 20k ago and I put a real gauge in and it reads perfectly fine.

To see if the factory gauge is reading wrong .... Try hooking up a mechanical style oil pressure gauge . You could either have a bad sending unit , a colapsed oil filter , an oil pump on it's way out , a piece of gasket crap clogging the pick up screen , or the worst case ... bearings are worn ... I bet it's just the sending unit reading wrong . pray.gif
