Windsors or Mod's

Which series of motors do you prefer? The windsors (OHV) or the Modulars (OHC)?

The Windsor's myself. You need atleast a 4" bore to make good power naturally aspirated. The only way to make good power on a mod motor realistically is to put forced induction on it. The mod motors suffer from the bore spacing being to close.

I voted modular. Far superior crank and block in the cobra motors than its fox body counterpart. The aluminum mod motor blocks weigh ~85#'s where the iron almost double depending on what one you have i.e. 03/04 cobra romeo block. Mod motor cobras don't need a/m heads like the windsors do, you just get yours ported by someone with a clue and you are all set. The cost in the end for the port work is less than what a good set for a windsor cost. Mod motor cobra intakes just need a good port job on the lower to make some good numbers, can't do that w/ a windsor stock intake.

Windsors do have better all around rotating assy though stock for stock. Mod motors suck on rods/pistons. Windsors are so much easier to do longtube headers on than a mod motor.

You don't need forced induction to make power w/ an n/a mod motor, but it takes more money than with a windsor to make 400 rwhp.
