Is an Offroad H or X Pipe worth it?

Howdy,

Does anyone have any insight as to whether an offroad h/x-pipe is worth it? From what I've read up on, the X-pipe sounds like sh*t compared to the H. 5.0 mag shows the H produces more power although there may be some bias there.

I'm thinking about throwing one on (not too worried about the emissions--got that set) in order to maximize power. I'm hearing a lot of mixed thoughts on them and wanted to see if anyone is running a set on a 2005+ mustang... If so, what are your insights?

(Naturally aspirated right now with NOS if that helps)

well as far as sound i like the x pipe better i think it puts out a more throaty tone and even slightly louder. look up some clips of exhaust setups on youtube and streetfire.net you might get an answer from that too.

powerwise idk, X= raspy H= muscle car tone... when you go no cats you lose alot of low end TQ but gain in the high RPM's

What these guys said, X is raspy while H is more of a tuned sound...X puts out a little more horsepower but H gives better torque...Can't beat the sound of longtubes and an x pipe though, thats what I'm doin for my new exhaust.

I don't think anyone can honestly say that they feel a difference in HP between the two.

I had an H on my 93LX and have an X on my current 86, and based on sound, I like the H a little better.

You can't really go wrong with either, as they both sound better than what's on your car now...
