5 lug conversion

As if most of you don't already know I'm not very mechnically inclinded so a lot of things have to be explained to me :) so with that said what is required for a 5 lug conversion and how much would it cost ?(probably dont need someone to do it for me so dont count the labor... just parts)

that site has any and all information you need on how to do the swap. Thats the site I used 6 years ago on my old notch and the install went flawlessly. That site has been used by many people and is an excellent write up.

easyest way is to use two drivers side axle and drum from a ranger and use either svo rotors or lincoln mark v rotors , they use same bearings and pads they are direct swap

There are a bunch of ways to do it.

The best way is to peice together A Cobra brake kit.

For the front:

Spindles
rotors
calipers
brake lines
weatherhead 7828 fitting
5/8" washers or SN95 ball joints.

For the rear
94-98 Sn95 axles
axle caliper brackets
complete calipers
rotors
dust shields
94-95 rear brake soft lines

MB/Booster

94-95 GT/V6 or 93-95 Cobra MC
93 Cobra booster, or Sn95 booster (1994-1995 only)
3-2 conversion kit
FMS prop valve plug
aftermarket adjustable prop valve

Have a read

right side aerostar axles work well if you are staying with drum brakes plus they seem to be more plentiful and genrally in better shape than the ranger axles.......

Depending on what wheels you run, you could use the late model restoration kit.

It's basically ranger axles and drums and Mark 7 front rotors, but it does come with gear oil, bearings and seals for the front

It's $400.

Downside is you are limited to wheels you can run.

94-98 GT 16" wheels
V6 wheels
94-97 Cobra wheels
95 Cobra R's
94-95 GT 17" wheels

That's about it.

These applies to factory or factory style wheels only. The front mark 7 rotor conversion will not allow the center cap to fit on the 99 and later style of wheels without running a spacer.

Or modification to the Mark 7 rotor by machining a 45* angle to the snout....which i would not recommend unless you know what you are doing.
