How do you guys pass MA inspection w/ emission guidelines???

Well I just tried to get my car inspected, and the fucker wouldn't pass because of emissions???

I've never had this issue in PA as my car was exempt there...

The car has a catted h-pipe & 50 series flows??? Could it be that it's not driven enough?

Pissed... furious.gif

I never even brought my car in to try. I put my girlfriends cobalt on the dyno and scanned my registration at my friends shop and took the sticker home to put on. Didnt have any problems

Looks like I failed HC grams per mile 3.83 w/ a limit of 2.00...

I did notice after I got home that where it says "engine size/cyl" they entered "3.8 / 6"

Could this have affected the numbers??? Are there different emissions guidelines for bigger engines?

I think I can get the sticker somewhere else, but didn't expect to fail emissions..

I agree with this one. My brother has a 89GT vert with Flowmaster super 40's and a stock catted hpipe and his passed when I took it in September for a sticker.

# of cylinders doesn't really matter, it's based on percentage not quanity. Did they put it on the dyno or just tailpipe test? Run car down to 1/4 tank, add 3 bottles of dry gas & retard timing down to 8*. Worked for me twice in the past.

u have to bring it back to that station. if you officially got a reg. HC= egr or bad cat. Make sure u have enough timing, and turn down the fuel pressure reg. Ur car is still speed density right? Make sure the air cleaner is clean! HC is easy its the nox that is tough to cure. Try to get them to do the 2 step test.
