my advise would be to go to the dealer and get them to write you a check for truck straight out.then you have no payments and drive jeep for the winter......save your money for a condo or a house(or just save) ........i went to lucini motors in west brigdewater and they wrote me a check for allmost 20 k. i had an 04 f250......i took that money and put it towards the house i'm in now........i miss that truck thou......

just go for a termi, you dont want a GT unless your going to keep it stock instead of making it go fast. believe me, just look at my username.

Get rid of that notch you have first. Then see what you have for money and either pay your truck off or pay as many payments up front as you can. Save money and buy a mod motor cobra. They are far superior to the GT's and you get so much more for your money. The truck for the GT isn't a good swap. You need a daily driver and it sounds like the truck is that. Either that or look around for another daily driver first, then sell your truck and then decide on the mustang situation.

i owe like 13.500 on the truck...so selling the notch wouldnt get me anywhere...i drove a 02 GT yesterday(minor bolt ons) and it was more of a turd than a stock foxbody 5.0 automatic...im keepin the truck for a year or 2...then trading it in towards a 03-06 f350 diesel...im keeping the notch..i dont know what i was thinkin haha

I respect that you don't want a newer stang , but to say they are slower than an automatic fox body is a tadd off .. Stock they are 260 horse which is far more than the 215 the fox's were rated at . A stock 5spd 02 GT will run high 13's stock .. Mine with just a cold air kit and exhaust dynoed @ 240 rwhp and 295 rwtq .. A 5spd 5.0L with the same mod's would be lucky to break 200 to the tire . As for why the car you drove felt slow ..... did you shut off the traction control ... Cuz it automaticaly comes on every time you restart the car and can hold back the performance alot . Plus the new edge cars just ride so much better that it can feel slow when it really isn't ..
These cars are alot more money to play with than a fox body , but it's all in what you can afford . You could pick up a 96-97 4 valve cobra for pretty reasonable money these days , But if you think 2 valve parts are expensive . Try to buy 4 valve stuff .... What some are doing is buying the 96-98 2 valve stangs and bolting on the 99 to 04 P.I. heads and intakes . This mod makes some good power because the 96-98 4.6 had more of a domed piston and the newer heads have a smaller CC chamber. Hence alot more compression and these cars with just cams are making 260 to 275 to the tire .... not to shabby for stock parts !!
Having said all this though .... I would say stay the course with the notch and keep the truck . You have a fun inexpensive stang to play with and a newer truck to get you anywhere you want to go ... including threw the snow .... Hay that rhymed !! biggrin.gif

haha ur a poet and u didnt even know it!!!! haha nah i was exagerating when i said slower than a stock auto fox .. comin from someone who knows there shit, specialy about mod motors ill take your word for it ...the one i drove was a convertable gt...the modular cars are like driving in your living room compared to a fox...i was amazed at that...idk if the traction control was on or not but im guessing it was...i just didnt like the way the car felt..idk if its cuz im used to the small stature of a fox or what...but the power just wasnt there for me either...i would LOVE to just take a mostly stock 01-04 GT, throw some pi heads and decent cams in it...with a vortech or somethin...tune it and just drive it...one day, i will definatly crossover to modular performance(while still loving fox bodies)...for now im gonna beat the piss out of my PAID FOR notchback that i paid $500 for...and i realized to supercharge and tune and modify a newer gt will cost wayyyy more than my budget alows...i WILL tho on the otherhand be doing some sort of forced induction on my car becuase i drove in my buddys 78 nova with a wieand 174 blower yesterday and i fucking shit myself...forced induction is so awsome...i think once i get a blower or something ill never go n/a again..

99-04 2V had PI heads and cams and 96-98 2V are NON-PI
