very interesting article from muscle mustangs and fast fords...ATTN: JIM

Stephen Kim of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords issue of Oct. 2006....on a 999rwhp CARBURETED blow through turbo notch.....

"Rumor has it that extreme set-ups like this, if carbureted, should surge, spit and drive like garbage.
In reality, this Mustang is actually well mannered, firing right up without argument and cruising along smoothly at part throttle. Ironically, many of the cars that are doing the surging and spitting and driving like garbage are the ones running EFI systems. Well, if they can't figure out how to tune technology thats superior on paper at least they can feel good about having wasted more money"

If tuned right...any carb set up is as good as any EFI setup any day of the week...on the street no doubt efi has carbs beat...but who are we tryin to kid...were putting hi-flow heads, cams and blowers on our cars...who really cars about more gas mileage???/ or how many of us drive are cars year round...coming 2008 no car made before 96' has to pass emmisions...shure carbs dont like the change in weather or elevation...but thats sumthing im willing to deal with...ppl put down carbs too much

99% of the time a carbed motor will make more H.P. over the same injected engine. The fuel mileage and driveability will suffer on a carbed car some times. I've seen too many dynoes on injected motors over the years. Everytime they swap over to a carb on the same engine they always make more power.

Definalty can make more power with a carb...dont get me wrong fuel injection in a lot of ways is better...deifnalty for the street...but i love the simplicity of a carb and the throttle respsonse and a ton of other things, including the nice clean look of a nicely put together SBF motor with a carb...if i had a perfectly good 5.0 EFI car then i would keep it efi, but being in my position with the 4cyl converison, i found this article funny because everyone ragged on me for going carb'd, i love my car and wouldnt change a thing, i also have a 03 Dodge to drive daily so i dont have to worry about good gas mileage and shit with the mustang cuz i have the Dodge,. Jim's car will be carb'd one day, garuntee it
