Well I signed up on here a while ago and I've been really busy trying to get my car together but I've been getting emails so I figured I would take some time to introduce myself. I know my car isn't a mustang but all my friends have 5.0's and other stangs. I'm also on the Blackout Racing forum. Here are the stats on my car for now...1984 Pontiac Trans Am, 406sbc, Holley 750DP carb, Edelbrock performer RPM manifold, roller rockers, Edelbrock performer RPM cam, stock 882 heads ported and polished, SRP high compression pistons(12:1 w/76cc heads),TH700R-4 tranny, shift kit, 2200 Stall converter, 7.5" GM 10 bolt rear with 3.73 gears, 4th gen aluminum driveshaft.
welcome to the site, whats it run for times? That was me e mailing everyone to introduce themself, plus we have alot of guys on here doing nothing at all,i hope no one is a cop.trying to get something on us :)
Yeah I knew someone on here was emailing me. The engine might have a spun rod bearing so no track time this year. I'm hoping to run 12's atleast with the setup I have not sure though, if I get in the 13's I think I'll sell the car, haha. Nope I'm not a cop just another 19tr old gear head.
Yeah, my name is 84ta383 on there. Theres a story behind the name change and engine size but thats another day. You have a black 88 hatch right? And I'm guessing that Jim is "The Burnout King?"
I actually almost sold it the other day and bought a stang but my motor N/A is good for 10's so I'm all set with a 302 right now. Maybe someday a nice GT will come my way.

Ya right !!! I saw your listed engine specs and will tell you it is NOT good for 10 's as you put it . It takes a well set up car to produce those times . You need a prepped suspension and at least 500 rear wheel horse and close to the same in torque . That would equate to 600 flywheel horse power . Not to mention a drive train to handle it . I'll tell you now that 7.5 rear end has no chance on handling that kind of abuse . Besides based on your current setup you might on a good day make 350 rwhp and thats being generous . I'm sorry but you can not beat the horsepower per cubic inch that a small block ford can produce .....
I know the setup right now isnt that fast maybe 12's at most. But the block and everything is good for it plus I might be getting this soon.... http://worcester.craigslist.org/car/421143647.html

my ass 10s. in that sled id like to see you even break 13s.
hey pat why dont u lay off the kid just cause he doesnt drive a mustang not every 1 drives them nor does every 1 like them he said good for 10s not that it ran 10s and yea i do have the 88 shitbox hatch lol
It didn't mention a engine or tranny because there is none. It's a fully setup 1985 T/A rolling chassis. I have a 427ci sbc shortblock in my garage right now that was going in my car but now I'm thinking of putting it in that instead.
I never said my car ran 10's I said the motor is good for 10's because the bottom end it build really nice. The heads are what kills that car and it could use a vic. jr manifold with more carb and more stall but I'm 19 and I was building a street car. With the weight of the car maybe high 12's are possible but by no means 10's and I know that. Even with that 406 built with AFR's and a giant cam 10's are still very out of reach...11's arent though.
He would sell his purple stang to me for 5k but to me it's not worth it. I knwo everything on the car and whats wrong with it so I know I wouldnt pay that much, there's better ones out there.
