i had an 89 lx hatch which caused me to do retarded things and resulted with me losing my license for what should have been a year. but due to the fact that i'm leaving for the Marines in February the judge let my last offence slide and I get my license back July 31st, after only 6 months!
With that said, I blew up my 89. fucked the thing all up. valve ticks, motor knocked, blew the headgaskets, overheating like it was its job, leaking every fluid in the thing, the transmission syncros all gone, clutch burnt, and the whole car just twisted and bent.. thats what happens when you put gt40 intake, 24 pound injectors, 70 mm throttle body, cold air intake, full exhaust with flows, on an 89 with no frame support and launch at 6000 and beat the fuck out of it everytime you drive it. but fuck it. i got it a year before in SHIT condition and replaced every pannel on it and got it painted. but the frame was rotted out and shit, it was time to go.
i ended up trading my blown 89 and 500 bucks for a good condition 94 GT 5.0 5-speed. black on black with a leather interior. fucking solid thugh. it has a few basic things done to it. a rebuilt 95 motor with 40K miles on it with new forged pistons, and just a K&N cold air intake, smog delete kit, aluminum driveshaft, 373 gears, dynomax equal length headers, mac off road h pipe, mac flowpath exhaust with chrome tips (sounds better than flows i think), and just an interstate battery with new plugs and wires. its got a real 97 cobra hood and real chrome 97 cobra wheels. not bad considering a traded a blown up 89 with a rotted frame for it. all it needs right now is paint. im gonna do the minor body work myself and then ship it off to maaco for a respray.
i also put in a stereo with 2 10s in the trunk, an alpine amp, the stock mach 460 speakers and a pioneer deck.
i would usually rip the motor apart and do some stuff to it, but it doesnt make sense. i'm leaving for the Marine Corps in February and the car's not coming with me, so it will be up for sale around January. so it doesnt really make sense to put money into the car, because if i put money into the motor and went to sell it, its worth about 4 grand. and if i goto sell it right now (after its painted) its worth about 4 grand...
but the car still goes pretty fucking good. but after bootcamp with the money from the military and the money from everything I get rid of from cars and shit, im gonna use it as a downpayment on an 04 cobra and then go wild!
all i need to start cruising again is a paint job (not neccesary but id like to have one) and an Obnoxious Racing sticker on my windshield! i get my license back July 31st and i wanna cruise with you guys that day! keep in touch fellas!
I also had a 4 Banger LX convertible with only 48K miles on it! it was mint! what was i thinking when i got rid of it!! this was the perfect car for a swap! the guy who bought it lives in Taunton, you might see my old car cruising around there!
in the pictures you can see my dads 73 351 q code cleveland with 2 4 barrel carbs on a tunnel ram right through the hood and my old shitbox 88 ranger that i caught on fire off roading and had to junk!
